Why ten minutes of play helps

Two findings from relationship research are worth knowing. Couples who did novel, mildly exciting activities together reported higher relationship quality afterwards than couples who did pleasant but familiar ones (Aron, Norman, Aron, McKenna and Heyman, 2000). And a structured set of escalating questions, answered in turn, produced measurable closeness between two people in under an hour (Aron, Melinat, Aron, Vallone and Bator, 1997).

That is the whole idea behind this site. None of it needs a weekend away. It needs ten minutes, one phone, and a reason to talk. The score is an excuse; the conversation is the game.

Frequently asked questions

Are these online games for couples really free?

Yes. Every game runs in your browser with nothing to buy, download or sign up for. The site is supported by advertising, which is kept away from the game controls.

Do we need two phones?

No. All of the games are designed for one phone that you pass back and forth or hold between you. If you are apart, the long distance page has a sync code so two devices deal the same cards.

Are the games appropriate?

They are written for adults in a relationship, but they are tasteful. Romance is affectionate rather than explicit, and nothing on the site needs to be hidden from a roommate.

Which game should we start with?

This or that is the fastest and needs no explanation. Would you rather is the best all-rounder. Questions for couples is the one to keep coming back to.
