How to play this or that together
- Pick a category from the menu on the card, or leave it on “All categories”.
- One of you taps a pick while the other looks away. The pick is hidden straight away.
- The other taps theirs and both picks appear together.
- Keep it quick: tap “Next question” and go again. The count under the card shows how many you picked the same and how many differently.
When to play this or that
This or that is the shortest game on the site and the most honest, because there is no time to think. No truths, no dares, nothing to explain unless you want to, so it fits into the smallest gaps in a day.
In a queue
Ten pairs fit inside any wait. Romance pairs are best saved for last.
Before the food arrives
Food category, twenty pairs, and you will finally settle the pizza question.
Winding down after work

Variations
Speed round
Give yourselves three seconds per pair. It removes overthinking and the results are more honest.
Predict the partner
Instead of picking your own preference, pick what you think your partner would choose. Compare notes afterwards. This works well after a round of the normal game.
On two phones
Enter the same sync code on both devices and the pairs appear in the same order. Say your picks out loud and tap “Skip this one” together to move on.
Tips
- Answer on instinct. The first answer that comes to mind is usually the honest one.
- Disagreements are the fun part. Ask each other for the one-sentence reason.
