When to play truth or dare questions
Truth or dare gives every player a choice: talk about something, or get up and do something. That choice is why it works for a mixed group, where some people would rather answer and others would rather perform.
Sleepovers
Silly dares and Funny truths keep a room of friends laughing late into the evening, and nobody has to leave their sleeping bag for long.
Family parties
Cousins, parents and grandparents can all take a card. Talent dares like balancing a book on your head are as fun to watch as they are to try.
A team social or club night
A few Group dares, like a slow-motion wave or a story told one sentence at a time, wake up a tired room without anyone being put on the spot.
Ways to play truth or dare
Pass the phone around the circle
Sit in a circle with one phone. The holder says “truth” or “dare”, picks a matching category from the menu, reads the top card and plays it, then hands the phone to the left. The next player changes the category if they choose the other half.
Team or club, one card for the room
The leader draws a card from Group dares or Easy truths and picks a volunteer, or the whole room plays it at once. Five cards fit into the last ten minutes of a meeting, and nobody is singled out who did not raise a hand.
Two players or a video call
With just two of you, take turns choosing and keep a quiet tally of truths and dares, so neither of you can pick truth every time. On a video call, stick to Silly dares and Talent dares that the camera can see, and let the other side hold up fingers to score each one from one to five.
Tips for a good round
- Agree on one pass per player before you start. A pass is a pass: nobody asks why, and the player swipes to the next card.
- Mix it up: two truths in a row earn a dare on the next turn, which keeps the quiet players and the show-offs both in the game.
- Clear a little floor space first. Every dare here fits in a living room and takes under a minute, but a balancing act still needs room to wobble.

Frequently asked questions
How many truth or dare questions are there?

Is there a truth or dare game for couples?
Yes. Truth or dare for couples is a spinner game for two, with sweet, flirty and bold levels. Its truths and dares are written for partners and are different from the ones on this page.
Is this truth or dare clean enough for coworkers or a family party?
Yes. The truths are about chores, habits, school days and small mistakes, with no crushes or anything private, and the dares are safe things to do in a living room. Nothing asks players to eat anything, message anyone or touch another player beyond a high five, so it suits a team night as well as a family get-together.
What should we play after truth or dare?
Try never have I ever questions. Instead of one player taking a turn, everyone answers each card at once, which suits a group that has warmed up and wants more stories.
