How to play would you rather with your partner
- Pick a category from the menu on the card, or leave it on “All categories”.
- One of you taps a pick while the other looks away. The pick is hidden straight away.
- The other taps theirs, and both picks appear together, whether they are the same or not.
- Talk it out. Hearing each other’s reasons is the best part. Then tap “Next question”.
When to play would you rather
Nobody has to be clever or vulnerable to play. You tap one of two options and the reasons come out on their own, which is why it works as the opener of an evening and as a rescue when a conversation has stalled.
On a road trip
The passenger reads the dilemma, the driver answers first, and the Adventure category writes itself into your next trip.

One card per course, answered out loud. It beats two phones and silence.

Talk-only rounds
On a drive, a walk or a slow dinner, skip the tapping: read the dilemma aloud, answer out loud, and tap “Skip this one” when you are ready for the next card.
On two phones or over a video call
Create a sync code on the long distance page and enter it on both devices. The questions come up in the same order on both screens: say your picks out loud and tap “Skip this one” together to move on.

- Skip freely. Some dilemmas will not land for every couple, and the deck is long.

There are 60 questions across five categories: fun, romance, adventure, future and silly. The game deals them in a random order without repeating a card until you have seen them all.
Are the questions appropriate?
Everything is written for adults in a relationship but stays tasteful. Romance cards are affectionate rather than explicit, so you can play with the volume up.
Does the game keep score?
It keeps a simple count of how often you picked the same and how often you picked differently, just for this visit. Neither is better: the different ones usually make the best conversations.
